The Committee for Global Unity (CGU) is an international student-led organization that brings young people together across cultures, countries, identities, and experiences.

We believe that unity does not require everyone to think, speak, or live in the same way. True unity begins when differences are respected, every person is given the opportunity to participate, and young people learn to work together toward shared goals.

Through dialogue, cultural exchange, inclusive leadership, and collaborative youth projects, CGU helps students turn understanding into friendship and friendship into meaningful action.

About CGU

The Committee for Global Unity is a youth-led international organization dedicated to strengthening understanding, inclusion, and cooperation among young people around the world.

Our members come from different national, cultural, linguistic, educational, and social backgrounds. These differences are not obstacles to overcome. They are valuable perspectives that can help young people understand the world more completely.

CGU creates opportunities for students to meet, exchange experiences, discuss issues affecting their communities, and design projects together. Members learn how to communicate across differences, challenge stereotypes responsibly, include voices that are often overlooked, and lead with empathy and respect.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build meaningful connections among young people from different backgrounds and help them develop the understanding, confidence, and leadership skills needed to create more inclusive communities.

Our Vision

We envision a world in which young people do not merely tolerate difference but recognize its value.

In this world, students from different countries listen to one another with curiosity rather than judgment. Leadership is shared, participation is accessible, and no young person is treated as less important because of nationality, language, disability, gender, economic circumstances, culture, or personal background.

CGU believes that this future can begin now through the everyday choices young people make in their schools, communities, and relationships.

Our Areas of Work

Global Youth Dialogue

CGU creates safe and structured opportunities for students from different countries and communities to discuss their experiences.

Dialogue topics may include identity, education, disability, migration, cultural misunderstanding, discrimination, youth participation, gender equality, social isolation, economic inequality, and access to opportunity.

Cultural Exchange and Friendship

CGU connects students through online and in-person cultural exchange activities.

Participants may introduce their languages, traditions, schools, communities, histories, celebrations, arts, and everyday lives. Exchanges are designed to go beyond tourism and simple cultural displays. Students are encouraged to discuss both what makes their communities special and the challenges young people face within them.

Diversity and Inclusion Projects

CGU supports student-led projects that make schools and communities more welcoming and accessible.

Inclusive Youth Leadership

CGU helps students become leaders who make room for others.

Members learn how to organize teams, lead discussions, manage disagreements, plan projects, communicate across cultures, and distribute responsibility fairly. Special attention is given to inclusive decision-making, respectful language, accessibility, safeguarding, consent, and transparency.

Collaborative Global Action

Students in different locations may work together on a common issue while adapting their activities to their own communities.

A global project does not require every team to perform exactly the same activity. Local teams are encouraged to respond to their own circumstances while sharing goals, methods, observations, and results with international partners.
